Sunnyside cardi - still going....

I am still going at the Sunnyside cardi... I got so close to finishing it last week but I just didn't like what I did and ended up ripping out 1/3 of it.

Nothing wrong with the pattern, it's all me. Instead of knitting straight down after dividing the sleeves, I continued to incorporate the increases in the lace pattern repeats. It flared out too much and weird too (no surprise there... DAH!!!) so I ripped back. My hands and my left arm were cramping pretty badly by then too so I took a break and picked up again a day later.

After I ripped back, instead of picking up to knit the body straight away, I gave myself a break and picked up one of the sleeves. I decided to make short sleeves as I want this cardigan to be a layering piece.

So I have started doing some subtle decreases in the body and whilst it is not straight down, I don't mind the A line look so much.

I have another 10 rows to go before starting the edging for the body so hopefully not too much longer to go!

  1. Hi Amanda,
That's the great thing about getting some knitting experience behind you, if you don't like the way some patterns go you can just change them to suit yourself. Good on you for having a go. The top looks nice actually and I love the colour you've used.
    Cheers, Anita.
