A simply stylish handbag
A simply stylish handbag - that's the name of the handbag... I got this kit from U-Handbag just before Christmas and I am so glad I got it. I had fun making the bag and it didn't take me very long either (surprising!). I am happy with the outcome anyway. I reckon it took me longer to hand stitch the leather handle on than the actual sewing of the bag. I learned that stitching with leather requires a lot of patience and hmm, needles. I broke 5 needles in total! I think I might have to invest in some needles especially for leather if I am going to make another bag with leather handles.
I am going to use the bag tomorrow - as you can see, I have already packed it! So the moment of truth is tomorrow when I actually use the bag...
Until next time, take care and blog soon!

ReplyDeleteHi Amanda , your bag looks great , love it !
ReplyDeleteThanks Clare! I am slowly getting better!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda - your bag is beautiful, and thanks for your comment on my blog. It's funny that we had the same challenges with the leather handle. The version I made is an earlier version of the pattern, I think yours is the new and improved which is a bit bigger and has inner pockets - I love that. It's great! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Astrid, thanks for writing, lovely to hear back from you. The pockets are optional but I knew I would regret it if I didn't put one in. I modified the pattern a little where I stitched down about 1/3 across so I have two pockets instead of one big on which my mobile phone fits nicely in. BTW, I love your blog!
