Notthingham beanie - how to make cables without the cable needle...

This week I finished a baby sized Nottingham beanie for a friend's impending new arrival. This is such a easy knit and I used less than one ball of a Morris Estate 8 ply yarn.

There are some cables in this pattern and this time around I tried making these without a cable needle. Very Pink Knits and Knitting Daily both have excellent demos.

Off to plan for the next project!

    1. Thanks Anita - I know, right? I decided to test this out because I am always so clumsy with the cable needles. I have dropped it many times while mid way in a cable repeat so this just saves the hassles. I would only do this for small cables though. When you try it out, do let me know how you get on, I would be interested to hear about your experience!
